Brother John was a man of integrity, genuine love and a faithful servant who diligently met the needs of those around him. As portrayed in Matthew 25, his life can be likened to the wise torch bearers, whose lamps were burning brightly at the coming of the bridegroom; the men who diligently invested the master’s money to bring a fruitful return for his investment; but maybe most tellingly, he quietly and faithfully met the needs of those his life touched as did the sheep in the final parable of this chapter. In the end, Brother John heard the words that every human soul wants to hear—well done, my good and faithful servant, because you were faithful in little, you will be given much. Enter into the joy of your Lord!
