In Matthew 23, Jesus said He was incapacitated by the people’s unwilling hearts, indicating that human will is the determining factor in whether one receives the grace of God. Anyone can accept opinions or suggestions, as long as these are based on human authority; yet whenever someone comes in the authority of God, people take offense. But an examination of scripture reveals that God almost always chooses to dispense His grace through anointed words of truth delivered by imperfect vessels—people.
