When God puts His nature of love in us, this makes us sons of God. But that nature cannot reside in us unless the Ishmael nature—which is His rival—is first expelled from our lives. We express our love to God by obeying His commands. Our obedience indicates a change in our hearts from our Adamic nature toward the new nature of His Spirit. Yet if Satan can get us to mis-interpret God’s love as rejection, we have allowed him to abort our chances for transformation.
