Everyone wants the surety of God’s will on a path of fulfillment in His purpose. But not everyone wants to allow God to search them in the way the Psalms 139 suggests. For when He examines us in this way, He might show us our perspective of His will is wrong, or worse, He may reveal our true sinful nature. This searching is like a mirror that is placed before us. If we choose to look deeply and honestly into that mirror and not forget what we saw, that truth will lead us in a way that is fulfilling and everlasting, not fraught with disappointments and mirages.
