To resist the devil, we must recognize one of his biggest temptations—the lie claiming that we are an exception. This idea is really a manifestation of a deeper sin, the sin of self-pity. Stand strong in faith; “resist the devil and he will flee from you.” When we maintain an inflexible conviction, the devil will flee because he realizes that we will not be moved.
