No one is independent within themselves; everyone is dependent on something or someone else. Ironically, the culture that surrounds us gains our dependence through an illusion of independence. It promises freedom, while exploiting our needs through a counterfeit satisfaction. If we recognize these needs and dependencies instead of denying them, we would find that the kingdom of God is the place where we can be "complete in Him" (Col. 2:10).
